Halloween / Fall Activities 2007
Well Halloween is upon us. This can be such a fun time for kids. Cade is still very young and has a lot to learn about holidays, but Lucas and I are having a blast being his teachers!
On Saturday Oct. 20th, Lucas and I took Cade to TG Farms in Newcastle, OK. They have a pumpkin patch there that has turned into the North Pole of Halloween. They have a corn maze, a hay maze, a corn slide, a petting zoo, a duck pond and tons of places for photo opps.
We had a lot of fun taking pictures of Cade on the tractors and pictures of him checking out the farm animals. He even got to get up close and personal with a baby pig. It was so cute!
This past Sunday October 28th, we got Cade and his two cousins Alissa and Marti together to take pics in their costumes. Cade is a pirate this year, Marti is SuperGirl and Alissa is a cheerleader. They were all so cute. And, if you know these three kiddos very well, then you know these costumes really fit their personalities! LOL
The slide show below has pics of Cade at the farm, pics of all three of the kiddos in their costumes and a few pics of Cade and his new buddy Yogi. Oh yeah and there's also some naked pics of Cade running around after his bath. That kid just loves being naked! LOL I guess they all do at his age though.
Speaking of Yogi, Yogi is Cade's new best friend. His Nanna and Poppie bought him for Cade for his birthday. He is a black bear and he is so soft. Cade just loves him. He has to have Yogi all the time now days. He cuddles with him at night, he cuddles with him just after waking up, he cuddles with him in the middle of play time and also at bedtime. I'm beginning to think he is more attached to Yogi than Lucas and I. I have a feeling Yogi will be around this family for many years to come! :o)
Enjoy the pictures and have a Happy Halloween!

Cade's First Year Pictures
I got Cade's first year pictures back. They may just be the best ones yet. The one posted above just takes my breath away. I know as a mother you are supposed to think your child is the most beautiful one of all. And, as I'm sure you all know, I do. I really really do. I am constantly wondering how someone so beautiful inside and out belongs to me and Lucas! God has truly blessed us.

My New Baby Brother
Ok, so I know my blog is supposed to be about Cade, but it's my blog and I'll do what I want! LOL... I want to announce the birth of my beautiful new baby brother, Cole Bradley Scroggins. He was born last Friday October 12th. These pictures were all taken about 6 hours after he was born. I also threw in a few pictures of Cade from the last week!

Cade's First Haircut
We took Cade for his first haircut just a little bit ago. He did very good. He sat in daddy's lap like a big boy and did not cry at all. He squirmed quite a bit, but what can you expect from a one year old? Gina (our good friend and fabulous hair-dresser) did a great job. Cade looks so grown up. She spiked his hair up with some gel. Now, he's ready to go and get his big boy pictures made!

As Promised...
I'm posting the videos of Cade eating his cake. They are really cute.
He's still asleep, but we have a big day planned today. He's getting his hair cut and his pictures made. Then his grandparents are coming over tonight for dinner and playtime. It should be a great day!
I can't believe it's been a year. I keep replaying the events of 10/09/06 over and over in my mind. It's about 7:30 right now which is the time the doctor broke my water. I was so nervous! And, for what? Nothing! I got off easy with a C section... :o)
I'll post pics of the haircut sometime later tonight or tomorrow.

A Great Party
Cade's first year was great and the party was the perfect way to celebrate! We had a party at Lucas' mom and dad's house. Lucas smoked 2 slabs of ribs and a brisket. There was lots of great food and friends.
We had so many friends and family show up to wish our special little man Happy Birthday. We were very lucky because Cade was in a good mood and wasn't real clingy even though there were tons of people there.
Cade got so many new toys and clothes. Some of his outfits are absolutely adorable. Nane got him the cutest little red pirate shirt. And, my best friend "Aunt Courtney" got him a Nike OU warm-up that is precious! I can't wait until he can wear it on Saturday. Cade also got a new tricycle from my aunt and uncle. He's too small for it right now, but he already has his eye on it. He also got a cute little animal choo choo train from my mom. Aaron and Emily got him a train that shoots balls. All the little tikes at the party loved it! There were so many other great presents, in fact too many to mention them all. Trust me they were all great and very much appreciated. Cade is not one of those kids that has too many toys, so all the toys will surely be played with. Thanks to everyone!
As for the cake. Cade did just about what I expected. He was slow to warm up to it, but once he did he dug right into it and made a pretty good little mess. He was cute as always! We got some great pictures of him all messy.
What was the best part of the party you ask,,, the presents? the cake? the food? None of the above! For Cade the best part was his bath in the sink after eating the cake. Daddy sprayed him with the spayer and Cade thought it was the funnest thing ever! Wait until you see the pictures on the slideshow (I think those are some of the last). The look on his face will crack you up! It was so cute!
Today we have a few errands to run. We have some birthday money that was given with a specific gift in mind. So, I have to go find that. So, we'll be out running around. Tomorrow is Cade's actual birthday. We're getting his hair cut at 11 a.m. and pics at 2 p.m. I just hope he's in a good mood! Wish us luck!
Thanks again to everyone. I'll post pics of the haircut later in the week.

P.S. I'll post video of the cake later tonight!

1 More Week!
In one more week, my dear sweet baby boy will be a whole year old! I just hope the next 17 years don't go by as fast as this first one did. But, I'm sure they will. Cade becomes more and more independent everyday. He feeds himself with ease, drinks out of his sippy cup, only takes one bottle a day and he's even learning to use his spoon. (see the video) Plus, he's eating very little baby food these days. The only thing keeping my baby a baby is that he isn't officially walking yet. (Although he's trying very hard to learn.) Which honestly, I'm both happy and sad about. As far as I'm concerned I don't mind if he takes his time growing up. However, it brings us so much joy everytime he reaches a milestone!
Quick story to explain the pictures I'm posting. Last night when I got home from work, Lucas and Cade were asleep on the couch. Cade woke up when he heard me stirring around the house. So he gets himself down off the couch. Well he was so tired, that he immediately fell asleep right next to the couch. I walked in the living room to find him sleeping in the floor. It was so cute!
